Hi,

I've got a 2007 Sea Doo Challenger 180 SE with 62 hours on it. 28 hours since last service which was done at the end of last season. Tonight I took it out for a short trip and after a few minutes of running the control center beeped and displayed a check engine POSS44 error. I turned the boat off, waited a few minutes, turned it on again, drove for a little while and it did it again, tried it one more time and it did it again and I've docked it for the night.

I can't find a listing of the error codes in the manual or anywhere on the web.

Does anyone know what it is? It seems the engine is not going to full RPM and the boat seems to top out at about 40 mph and I think it went about 45mph at the start of the season.

Thanks
Ryan

dumb question.. is that a 4-tec engine?

If it a 4tec I found that code to be for exhaust gas temp sensor functional problem.. didnt describe symptoms.. it it should have 5 beeps and flash the check engine light while its running.. only thing i could find..hope it helps

Yes, it is a 4tec engine. And I can't remember how many beeps it does, but 5 sounds about right and it is when the engine is running and the check engine light stays on.

Not sure I'm a lot smarter from this, but that sounds a lot better than a code that means something like "replace cam shaft".

I wonder if this means I can use the boat for a day and then take it in?

Thanks
