Carbon Seals?

Is there any clear signs or clear indication that carbon seals need to be replaced. How can I tell if it needs to be replaced or not.

Any wear spots or chips. Also if your noticing more water in your hull than usual. If it’s wearing to one side it can be an indication that your motor needs aligned.
