eager beaver
New Member
I've got a 1997 challenger 1800, with twin 787 motors. I am new to this boat so I am not sure what is normal and what is not. Question I have is when I idle boat (about 3400 out of water) and got to give motor throttle, it bogs down?? Both motors act the same way?? Tried carb rebuild and cleaning and replaced fuel filter and bypassed gas on/off valves. Rave valves also just cleaned, even though I hear they have no impact until 5000 rpm?? I cleaned carbs also because I melted a rave valve on one motor?? I haven't got it in the water since carb rebuild, I was just expecting to see huge difference even just starting motor on ground. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
