Carb Gasket Sequence

I want to confirm where the gaskets go on my carb. The kit came with more than it should. It is a Mikuni brand carb kit. I have looked at carb thread and compared it to my carbs and to the FSM. They all seem to differ.

Under the pimp cover in order to the body is...
1.pump cover
2. gasket
3. Diaphgram
4. O-ring
5. Pump body
6. Gasket
7. Shaped o-ring
8. Carb Body.

Is this correct? Mine did not have the gasket between the shaped o-ring and pump body. Should one be there?

What carb (s)? What ski? Just follow the diagram that came with the kit. If it's bn38 bn40 kit, the extra is to cover the respective carb you have.

this for my 1997 GTX 787 dual carbs. On disassembly i found that the gasket that goes between the shaped o-ring and the pump body was not there. It does show on the FSM and paperwork for the kit. This lead me to believe someone had rebuilt these carbs before and sure enough when I got to the other side the valve body had a screw head that was stripped. I had to drill it out. Then the small screw that holds down the check valve to the valve body was in the same bad shape. So after a fruitless trip around town trying to find the proper size I just ordered some online. More delays......

I went through that also when doing the carbs on the 97' GTX, everything was badly rusted and stripping, engine had taken on water and had sat. I ordered this Mikuni Carb Stainless Screw Kit Super BN SBN 38 44 46 Seadoo Sea doo XP SPX GTX | eBay set to never have that problem again.

And these for the choke/throttle plates. M3 - 0.50 Stainless Steel Flat Head Socket Caps Screws, DIN 7991 A2 Allen / Hex | eBay

The original Mikuni Carb kits comes with a pictorial assembly that will clearly explain your original question.
