I finished going through the carb on my 95 GTS 580cc. When i installed the needle valve and float arm it said to check to make sure the float arm was parallel to the fuel chamber surface. Mine is not. I purchased the mukini (with the big red dot on the diaphram) rebuild kit and installed the new spring, arm, and clip. It says you are not supposed to bend or in any way modify the arm. Is there a way i can adjust it or does it not matter. Also the kit came with three small o-rings. I placed one on the needle valve seat but could not find a place for the other two. The mixture screws had o-rings, but one is bigger than the other and the ones in the kit were the same size. I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you.

I don't know about the "o" rings but it's OK to gently bend the arm to get the desired level.

Thank you for your replies. I had never done one of these and now i have done three. I replaced all the gray hoses and the feul selector. I cleaned out the feul bowl and installed an inline feul filter. I would not attempted it if not for all the people on this site offering advice and sharing their own stories. Thank you again.

The reason that the arm is adjusted and different springs are used is to achieve the desired "pop off" pressure. This determines how your ski runs from idle to the beginning of acceleration. When I put in my first kits I replaced the springs not realizing that they had more tension and increased my pop off pressure. This led to my perfectly clean carbs having a new "bog" just off idle. I just wanted you to be aware of this.

The kits i purchased came with two springs, one of which looked exactly like the old one. I have also purchased parts to build a pop off tester and plan to test it before reinstalling it. Both my skies were running, even though the internal filters were very dirty. There was also a large amount of blue gunk around all the nipples. With a couple hundred bucks and some patience I hope now they will run even better :) I have replaced all the oil lines (including the small 1/8 in ones on the pump) and the filter also. After the reinstall i plan to change the jet pump oil and clean the rave valves. Then hopefully i will be ready for a fun filled summer.
