Can't find a part in the ski - '96 GTX

I am stumped/curious.....my '96 GTX wiring diagram shows me a [DC-CDI] module...supposedly in the top half of the front electric box . IT IS NOT IN THERE. The only thing in the top half is the rectifier. The bottom half contains the ECM/MPEM.

It is definately not in the rear electric box either (solenoid, ignition coil, fuse).

I have been through this ski and I thought I knew where everything is/was...but this CDI module is "missing".....yet the ski starts and runs (when it does, other issues notwithstanding ). There are NO loose wiring harness connections, etc.....I've been through every wire in this ski.

Is the CDI incorporated into the MPEM?....I can't check until tomorrow (ski is 3 hours away from me at the moment).

Ideas/thoughts/enlightment? Thanks.

Yes, cdi is the mpem.
Thank you.....that was really bugging me...I could not for the life of me figure out where it could have been hidden otherwise....I've disassembled this ski electrically speaking.

Diagrams can be deceiving....even straight out of the shop manuals! Sheesh!

Are you sure you have a 1996 GTX ?? Mine has a separate CDI box in the top of the gray box. Perhaps someone swapped MPEMs over the years.
