First off, "Hello" all. I am new to PWC and to this forum. This is my first Jetski; 2004 GTX 4-TEC Supercharged. I bought it (yesterday) with a no start issue. It was from an online auction so I have no previous knowledge about this unit. This is what I have figured out so far and how I've gotten there:
When I insert the "key" gauges come to life and I can cycle through the 'mode' info. But no beeps, no noise at all including fuel pump, solenoids, etc. No warning lights. Nothing happens when I press the start button. Checked all fuses and connections and all looks good. But....
When I pulled the 'B' harness from the ECU I noticed that one pin had broken from the ECU and was stuck in the plug. I want to know if this is the cause of the problems I'm having. I forget which pin it is on the ecu, but it is a red/white wire. My diagram shows that is comes from or goes to the MPREM(?) at pin 2-11 I believe. My diagram does not show what the wire does. Anyone out there have info on this?
Thanks in advance.

Pin 2-11 (white/red) and pin 2-10 (white/black) are the wires the MPEM and the ECU use to communicate back and forth to each other. This broken pin situation is no doubt causing a serious problem.

Awesome. It sounds like I'm on the right track. I guess the only real option is to replace the ECU. I could try to have someone solder the pin back on (it is still in the pigtail), but I think that might not last. So I guess I have two questions:
-Since I don't know anything about my new ski; is there a way I could bypass this pin just so i could hear this thing start? Like suppling a 12V signal to the red/white wire for example. I really don't want to spend $400-$700 for the ECU and it turns out the engine sucked up a broken washer or has blowby or something.
-Second; I read someone installed an RXP ECU in their GTX and got an extra 30HP. Is this for real? What ECU's interchange with my ski?
Thanks again in advance.

You're not going to be able to bypass it. Gonna have to fix it or come up with a donor ECU and key.
