I have been in the market for a used challenger for a while now. I think I found a good condition 1998 challenger 18ft green and white. I am new to the whole seadoo thing. I have always had a boat with outboards. Was the 1998 Challenger a reliable model is there anything with this particular model i should look out for. Are parts for this 10/11 year old boat still available. are the rotax engines good compared to the newer model with the mercury single in them. ballpark what would you pay for a 1998 challenger that cosmetically looks good.

Its a great boat, I think. Had the 97. All motor parts, you can find, only thing i'd look out for, is the cables, going obsolete, in next yr/2.

If boat looks great..cosmetically, interior..etc, and runs better than it looks, i'd say no more than 6500, U.S. dollars.

Doesn't the 18ft challenger come with twin rotax engines? You need to run a compression test on the engines.

I would offer $3500 and work your way up from there. These 2 bangers spend all their life at the rpm limiter basically. So it would seem common to replace the engines.....
