SO last week we loaded up the rig and headed for Beaver lake in Arkansas, we met up with my buddy and his wife at a cabin just out side of Eureka Springs. The first day we where there I broke the boat within 20 min. Here is what happned.

Unloaded the boat into the water, turned on the CD player, took off and drove around for a little while slowly, then ran both engines up to 5500 rpm, the boat did great, sounded perfectly normal, after running at pretty high speed for about 7 min, one engine dropped down to about 4000 rpm, i slowed the port engine down and attempted to get the starboard engine to speed back up, when it wouldn't speed up, I cut throttle on both engines. The starboard engine died instantly, while the port engine remained idle. I then killed the port engine. After checking my impeller and grate for obstructions I attempted to start the starboard engine. All i heard was the starter try to pull it over. It acted like the engine was seized or something. I pulled the plugs, and the engine began to turn very slowly, I put the boat back on the trailer and headed back to the cabin. The engine has no water in it, and i have put some oil in each cylinder in an attempt to free it up. I took the head off and watched the engine turn over, it appears to be moving fine, but acts seized. I wanted to remove the impeller shaft from the engine thinking my pump may be froze but have not been able to figure out how to do it.

Anybody heard of a problem like this?

You have to remove the pump first before the shaft can come out. Are you sure the battery is fully charged?

Darn I was hoping there was an easy way to unbolt it, kinda like the driveshaft on a car. Yeah the battery should have plenty of juice, it starts the other engine without any problem, just to make sure I went ahead and put a jump box on it, but didnt make any difference.

You may have lost a piston, I had a simialr problem wih one of my ski's.. What happend on mine a piece of a broken ring fell back into the rotary valve
causing the engine to turn over very slow/hard.. Check the compression and you will know for sure.. The valve plate is junk too, but should be and easy fix now that I know what the damage is...
