Bought a 95' XP & 95' GTX & 99' Zieman trailer for $1000 - Now what to do.Fix them?

Hey Guys. Ok so I went and picked these up Wednesday. Got them for $1000. A 95' XP & 95' GTX with the 99' Zieman trailer,titles on all 3 of them. The xp should run. It did last year and I checked the compression when I got home and got about 130 on both cylinders. It had bad gas in it ( of course ). So i put new gas in it, oil and cleaned the plugs. Im going to try to start it in the am so I dont piss off the neighbors lol. Should it start right away or will it take some time to get the new fuel through the line? Or what should I do. Is the fuel filter good or ?

Now on the gtx. It turns over but of course wont fire up, didnt even really try because it has a full tank of BAD gas so I just checked to see if it was all together and the starter and etc worked. I checked the cylinders, the back ( Stern ) cylinder and it reads about 125-130. So I was getting happy, until I checked the front cylinder, grrrrrr, it read 30 not 130 but a poop low 30, lol. So I take it the front piston is blown right? So should I get the heads re-done or is it not worth it? It needs a little work like seats re-done, handle bar pad but besides that its lake ready, beside the bad cylinder. So im only in to the whole package for $1000 and the trailer is nice with disk brakes.The trailer could go for 900-1000$ in my area.Also got 2 jet ski stands on wheels in the deal, you can see them in the back ground. So the skis were kind of free and if the xp does run, then even better.

Anyways what do you guys think? What would you guys do? Here is a picture of them on the trailer. I think I did good. I had to drive to Las Vegas, About 10 hr round trip but I still think it was worth it :hurray::hurray::hurray:

What color are the fuel lines on the XP? If they are the stock grey lines, replace them, clean the carbs and the fuel selector before you run it. It can take a little time to get the good fuel to the carbs, so it may be helpful to put a little premix fuel in each spark plug hole before you attempt starting it. Do you know the drill about running them on a hose? Start the engine, turn on the water, then turn off the water before stopping the engine.

You will need to pop the head off of the GTX to see what the trouble is. You said get the heads redone. I think you meant the cylinders. On the GTX you would need to do the same service on the fuel lines as I suggested on the XP.

Time will tell how good of deal you got. But as you said, the trailer itself is close to the value of the purchase price, so I'm sure you'll do just fine. Good luck!!!

Hey thanks for the reply. Yes I meant the cylinders, lol. Ill check and see the color of the hoses and yes gotcha on the water off before the engine stops. Ill check them out more tonight.......
