Boat seeing little use - how to get it back into shape

Hi everyone,

I've been absent from these forums for quite some time, but I'm back with - hopefully a simple question.

I have a 2006 Sportster LE.

My boat has gotten little use for the last 5 years - I've run it maybe once per year. I've always properly stored it during the winter, but performance has declined over the last few years because of lack of regular operation.

The boat starts fine and runs ok... however, there's more smoke than I remember and I have trouble with hesitation on the top end. It doesn't plane as quickly as I remember either. The plugs are relatively new.

I'm going to clean the raves tonight and I've changed the oil and gas with fresh.

However, my question is... if this was your boat, what would you do to get it into tip top shape? Any pointers on maintenance or items I should think of changing because of disuse?

Thanks in advance.
