Bilge fumes

How much of a gas smell should I get when I pull the seats off my skis after they have been sitting for a couple of days? It seems fairly strong, but not horrible. The gas shut offs are off and I can see gas in the fuel filters so it does not seem to be flowing any gas. No fluid under the motors. Just making sure everything is normal. Both had a fair amount of gas leak into the bilge during the fuel line swap and other work, but I did clean them out with the purple clean stuff.

NO gas odor is safest in my opinion from being around all kinds of boats. Prudent decision to be sniffing in the engine compartment before hitting the starter and venting as necessary. Lots of boat explosions every year due to people being in a hurry.

Sounds to me like it is time to do a check of the entire fuel system: old fuel lines?, feel around the fuel lines for weeping and small cracks and hard/brittle fuel lines, all around fuel selector.

Lou posted this a while ago; you may be subject to a fuel tank recall.
