Hi Members,

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I tried the search function and couldn't find my answer!

The dealer who sold me my ski recommended running in the engine by using the learner key for the first 2 hours, then on the yellow key the next 2 hours by revving no more than 6500 revs, then the next 2 hours no more than 7500 revs then next 2 hours no more than 8500 revs and then the lastly the next 2 hours up to 9500 revs.

In your experience is this what you think is the best way? Another friend who bought a ski recently was told a totally different way! i have done 3 hours so far and am keen to rev a bit harder!

Thanks, 007

It is a stock ski. i might not have said the last bit correctly as I wasn't paying too much attention when It was being explained to me as my kids were driving me mad!

If it's a brand new ski, your ECU will limit the rpms so you don't have to worry about it. Stock skis don't really rev past 8100 that's why I asked.

Try not to stay at the same rpm for extended periods of time during break in.

NEVER use the learner key for break-in!

Constantly vary RPM and don't be afraid to give it full throttle for 10 seconds at a time in the very beginning. A couple hours in and you should ride it like you stole it.
