How hard is it to remove and replace the Bendix drive on a 04 GTI LE RFI?

How many hours does the shop book state and does anyone have a part number? Any tips and tricks?

Any good aftermarket parts??

The removal proceedure is in your shop manual, with pics. The manual is your ski's best friend, so sit down and read it. The bendix part is replaceable, and look at the brushes while you're at it. Load test it after completion, an auto part store will do that for free. Bills86e

My Tech guy just got the cover of to get at teh flywheel and there was WATER in there! AGHHH...

gonna try to clean up the flywheel and magnito and see if it is still working.

Where would water have entered??

Next question is What bendix Drive will I need? Anyone have a part number?

I guess a boat sitting for three years that has some water creates rust...LOL

Engine is sealed good and turns over fine so I think we are good there!!
