As is my new standard practice, I post any and every problem here first, before anxiety takes over and I start replacing random things.
My 96 GTI's battery light is on at idle speed. At just over idle, it flashes intermittently, and at high speed it is off altogether.
If you ride the ski for a while on plane, then it will not come back on at idle, but as soon as you shut down and restart, its back on again.
I am making the assumption that the guage is doing exactly what its supposed to do and warning me of a failing battery, and the light disappears at speed becasue the charging system is bringing the voltage up to acceptable levels.
Again, after spending piles of unncessary cash on other problems by buying parts without posting here first, I am just asking for verification that I am interpreting this correctly.
