After all the hours spent checking / cleaning almost everything on the ski I have today found the biggest fault , and most likely the original problem I have had sinse word go.
My problem was the GTX 951 Di bogging and stalling after a total rebuild. It would only run for a few seconds before shutting down.
Now , here's where I will admit to being not clued up on jetski's,.. I thought that when it started (most times with a squirt of carb cleaner) and it revved out strongly,....in reality it was only firing up on one cylinder(pto side). I thought it sounded like both were firing !! Thats why there was so much oil under the mag side cylider head when we took it back off to solve the leaking water problem, don't think its ever fired up.
Today, after checking air / fuel/ plugs / injectors, and lots more,... Took the injector rail off and held it over the engine, cranked it and you could see the fuel mist spraying from the pto direct air/fuel injector, nothing from the other. Swapped them over to make sure both air/fuel injectors were working which they were. Then we ran a test on the top left injector feed wire. No power at all !!. Went to the MPEM and traced the wires back to there,... still nothing coming out of the box. Power was going to the pto injector (on the meter)which is why it was firing obviously, but nothing for the mag one. This must surely be the last fault that it can be ????
I'm holding by breath waiting for an answer,... but do you think the MPEM is faulty ???
Took it to a jetski centre several weeks ago and no faults came up on computer, even although at that time the mechanic pointed out he thought the injector wasn't working but said it probably needed cleaning. He didn't run an elecrical test on it.
When cranking the 'maint' light comes on and a red light. It resets after taking out the key and switching back on again .....
New MPEM needed ????.... or something sending a signal to stop the current going to mag injector ??
PLEASE please help me get this out onto the water for my son,...
