It looks like the mixture on my starboard engine is running lean, the plugs have a tan ash on them. The engine wants to run at either 4000 rpm or 6000 rpm at speed and goes between the 2 erratically. It is not fun to steer while dooing this. Port engine seems to run fine, It might be a tad on the rich side. Anyone know of a good mechanic or shop in the Dallas Fort Worth area I could have check out this problem. My boat is the 1996 Speedster with twin 787's 1 carb per engine. I had the carbs rebuilt at Cowtown Power Sports approx 5 years ago. I'm not sure how often these need to be rebuilt.
