OK I have got the pump off the back of my boat with a new impeller and wear ring on the way. When I get the parts and go to reinstall them what kind of sealant do I use between the pump and the boat?

I just did mine today. I was told to use black sealant/silicone around the water intake pipe on top of the pump. I would also make sure to check around the bolt studs, my boats previous owner had sealent around all four bolt studs, not really sure that they need it though.

I have a 94 and when you get the wear ring put it in the freezer the night before it will go in a lot easier

OMG will this ever end. I got my parts from SBT today. I had the impeller housing all apart and ready for the new parts. A new impeller and wear ring. Looking at the two impellers they look different. Maybe that's OK it still maybe the right one. The one thing that has me worried is the black rubber cone like thing that goes on the end of the impeller and then to the drive is too small. Do I have the wrong impeller or do I need a new black cone thing?

The rubber end will be smaller on the end for a tighter fit. Make sure to apply some synthetic grease on the spline shaft end, this will help it slide on better. Double check your impellers: too high of a pitch will bog your motor down on hole shot but will provide higher top end, lower pitch will increase hole shot but reduce top end. If for instance you are replacing your stock impeller with a solace, it will appear alot different. Solace impellers differ fom stock ones.

I got the impeller from SBT so I guess it is the OME replacement. I think I will there tech support on Monday just to be sure. Thanks for the help
