98 SPX melted piston

The oil pump on my SPX wasnt working properly. Now I need a new piston. Just need some advice on what to do. Should I get the jugs bored out and get a WSM kit .25 over?(it was a stock piston) Also do I need to clean out the bottom end? I cant see any pieces in there(a little bit of water may have got in there when removing the jugs.

With a piston like that, do not reuse the cylinder without boring.
