98 GTX With Shaking Engine

My Freind just bought 2 98 GTX with the 787 RFI in them and one of them will start and run but shakes like crazy. He got them for cheap and doesn't mind spending some money on them but not too much.

We did find bottles of outboard oil in the storage compartment. Would this affect them?

Should we rebuild the top end or put a new engine in it?

Before you go to crazy, check the motor mounts to ensure none are broken.

Engines will shake when not securely fastened.

I checked them and they are good so I tried to shake the engine and I coulden't even move it half as far as it was while running and I'm 250lb.

Does is sound like it's running normally?

All engines shake. It just seems to me that if it shook bad enough to need a top end, then you'd be able to hear it.

It sounds like it has a low pitch knock.
