I'm new to Seadoos. I was driving my 97 XP,and suddenly it just died, felt like the stop/start or the key was just pulled at high speed.

Would not start up afterwards, nothing, des not even try to crank.

I should mention that when I bought this machine I have never got a beep when the key is put on the dess but it has started fine. Im think that is unrelated and will be replacing the beeper for that but wanted to mention.

I have fully charged the battery as well.

Last 97’ XP I have do this the negative battery cable fell off the starter bolt. Check all electrical cables and connectors first.

Thanks. I did a quick pass, I'm back at the lake in a few days I'll check it more thoroughly

Update as in back at the lake. I first checked the fuses. I have a 7.5 and 5 amp fuse blown. I took the ones out of my other XP. It tried to start but sounded like a bad battery. I then went to take the fuses out to return to the other seadoo, but they are blown. Seems like something is blowing my fuses.

Thanks.
Unplug all the VTS trim connections and try again.
Interesting. Sometime had done some interesting work on this vts and cut weird and put on a little motor. I could care less about the trim. I'm assuming to disconnect I can just disconnect the plug at the back.

Thanks.

Okay disconnected vts. Now turns over so 5a fuse no longer blowing. Just charging battery. Hopefully good after

Sounds positive at this point. Blown VTS units have been known to fry the MPEM computers so if the ski starts do no reconnect the VTS.

Good advice. But you will want to make sure you manually set the trim for best performance or the ski will not do that well. too low, no good and slow. Too high, it will porpoise just above half way is best.

Thanks! Took it for a rip tonight worked well. I'll check the trim tomorrow to see where it is set.

Thanks for your help!
