97 gtx exhaust outlet cracked

I found my exhaust outlet cracked at the fitting for the cylinder drain, which allows water to get in the hull when sitting in the water.

Can someone post a picture of the tool they made to remove/reinstall the nut? I get the theory with the pvc, would like a picture if possible.

Alright, I am going to start by saying that I am not the originator of this idea. I have seen this discussed in several locations but I didn't find any threads describing the method to make the tool, specifically what base material they used for the tool.

So I am assuming by this point you have already removed the easy to get to parts of the VTS system on the outside of the hull. This includes the linkages and the boot/ clamp. If not do that before going on,

Just as the title says. The other night I was trying to get the info gauge out of my 96 XP hood. Well, my fat meat hooks(hands) weren't really conducive to twist the locking ring nut off. So I PM'd Jetskigoodies and asked how he did it, and he said you basically need to be a contortionist to get them out. Now for all the thanks to be spread, JSG made a comment about the exhaust nut removal tool that Minnetonka4me made out of PVC (Here)and how he(JSG) was going to make something like that but for the gauges. Well I just happened to be at Lowe's for some stuff for work and I swung...

The second thread someone replied there is a $26 seadoo tool for the vts nut. Is this the same size as the exhaust nut? Happen to know the part number for said tool. I'm curious what it looks like. It didn't come up in my search last night.

Also, these pvc tools, what is used for leverage to twist it? Just turning the pvc pipe itself? or are you attaching some sort of cap and hardware on the end to get a socket on?

The VTS nut is pretty small. I think the exhaust nut is quite a bit bigger.

For the PVC made tool I just drill a hole and insert a screwdriver for leverage.

If i could get one of those tools, then i don't need to mess around with the pvc. haven't found one yet
