Hoping to find an experience oil leak expert!!

97 GTS with oil pooling on the engine cradle. From what I can see and feel, I believe the oil is leaking from the carb side of the engine. The case fitting on the bottom of the engine seems to be intact and not too terrible oily however, when I feel the bolts right above this fitting I get a nice coat of oil on my fingers. Since liquid usually flows down and not up, I thought well it couldn't be the fitting for the case. So what else could it be? The rotary valve gasket? The oil pump gasket?

I have checked all the lines to pump at tank etc, all are free from oil. The ski leaks when sitting. It has sat all winter leaking and I have only lost about maybe a pint of oil if that much.

The Two oil injection lines from the injection pump go to each side of the rotary valve spigot nipples. These two 1/8" X 6 1/2" lines get brittle & break commonly.
Replace with Tygon line from a small engine shop (weedeater). You will have to remove the airbox on carb to get access under carb. Use needlenose plier to squeeze
metal clip alittle and pull off. Prime the new lines by holding the injection pump lever
up/counter clockwise til bubbles are out. Use the link to Seadoowarehouse.com to

Thanks for the reply.

I doubled checked the oil pump lines that go from the pump into the intake manifold ... no leaks. Also there is no leak on the pump supply either.

I went ahead and pulled my carb off in a process to make my way down to pump, and that fitting that goes in the gear case. I intend on pulling off the intake manifold this evening .. I hate to do this, but there is no other way I can get under the pump to examine the lower gear case fitting.

After examining all of the diagrams of the parts I can tell you I am getting fresh oil on my fingers on the bottom of the intake manifold. Mainly towards the rear of the craft.

Is there anything I should keep in mind when pulling off the intake manifold?

This is what I found ...

Please see attached picture .. with annotations 1, 2 and 3 in red

See #1 the elbow on the crank case

I found little to no oil on this hose and joint throughout this entire ordeal.

#2 show the bolt holes for the intake cover, when installed this is the general area I was finding the majority of the oil

#3 this oil hole in the rotary valve weeks oil at a fairly slow rate ..

I am thinking that perhaps the intake manifold gasket was simply bad and the oil weeping from #3 was supplying my drip ... as I can't find any other signs of leakage on anything else ..

does this sound like a plausible reason to anyone else?
