My wife was driving her seadoo last weekend and was doing donuts and jumping the waves. The engine stopped and no beeps or power. I swapped seadoos with her slid seat back and battery cable power wire was loose. I tightened it and still nothing. I checked the fuses 5 amp fuse in front on mpem it was blown. Swaped it for another one and it blew instantly. (There is no power trim or 7.5 fuse just the 15 and 5) I took rear electrical compartment apart and the wire going to the starter on solenoid was loose I tightened it. Put another 5 amp fuse in and pop. I disconnect the stator and it doesnt pop. I looked in my manual and the test was disconnect cable and see if get between 40-76 ohms between black wire and black with red stipe wire, I got 61 so it's good. I went ahead and check between the two yellow wires and ground it read open. I had read in one forum that if you hook up only the red and black wires on the mpem and it doesnt blow then the mpem is fine. I don't think this is true but I dunno. I read how to replace the diode but im not sure if that is the problem. I took the front cover off the engine and it's clean enough to eat off of. I'm not sure if it's the stator or the mpem. Any help would be apreciated. It has the 717 engine.

Any water/moisture on the AMP connectors? Keep those dielectrically greased. Any signal on white wire at coil?

Everything is dry and looks almost new..kinda hard to believe I know. Also I went over all the connectors with dielectric grease when I winterized it last fall. I have rechecked them since last weekend when this happened they all look good. Also took the front cover off and visually inspected the wires going through the case to see if frayed. I will pull the flywheel off tomarrow didn't have time to today. I will check the coil wire also. I only checked the grounds in the back box.

I ordered the diode through American Microsemiconductor online. Will put it in once I get it and let you know.
