97 bombardier gti electrical help

Have a 1997 bombardier gti bought engine has compression new battery but when start button is pushed nothing happens at all what are the troubleshooting steps to figure out issue? Start from start switch and go from there also looks like key module is aftermarket so could mpem be bad from installation of after market ignition module ? Just looking for info as this is my first seadoo water craft

So that ski has the DESS lanyard or smart key. Without the correct key it won’t start.

If you push the start button without the key do the gauges come alive?

If it’s an aftermarket MPEM they are typically crap and don’t work.
