Ok, let see, today I changed out the old gray fuel lines to the black ones. Got everything back together and started it up. Well when I put the DESS key in I didnt get the two beeps, I got nothing. I removed the key and hit the start button and the gagues lit up. While the gagues were lit I put the key back in and then got the two beeps. Started right up. Ran it for a while and then shut it down to re fuel. Went to start it back up and wouldnt start. Ended up flooding the motor with fuel. Let it dry out and when it finally started I had to feather the throttle for a min or two. If I let off the gas it would die out. Too much and it would die. After a few min of that it ran fine. Shut it off and it did the same thing again. The DESS key only works if you hit the starter and then plug it in. Ran perfectly fine two days ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you clean out the fuel selector valve while changing the lines? A clog there would limit fuel to the carbs even with new hoses.

And changing the hoses doesn't get rid of the crap in the internal filters in the carbs. You'd need to clean out the internal filters to fully address the problems caused by grey hose deterioration.

You also verify the low speed and high speed adjuster screw positions on your carbs. Someone may have changed their settings as the clogging of the filters/selector progressed - most likely opening them more than the stock recommended turns. High speed adjuster should be 0 (fully closed) and the low speed adjuster to 1 turn open (1.25 turn max) from fully closed.

I did clean out the fuel selector, as before it would only run on the reserve setting. I didnt mess with the carbs though. Looks like I'll have to clean them out.
