96 xp motor locked up tonight what caused this? see pics!

to lean?
oil pump?
overheating?

Looks like a lean condition. When was the last time you checked your plugs? Or rebuilt the carbs.
 
I haven't taken the cylinder off yet but we think he piston skirt broke and that crud is the aluminum shavings that got sucked in and melted. Sounds like there is still some broken skirt under the piston.



what do you guy think on that ??

I am pulling it apart and I'll let u know what I find

all that crud was melted aluminum from a broken skirt

cylinder didn't look to bad till I saw a piece of its skirt is missing

wow man....like the other post said, inspect the raves and if good, then i'd look at the injection fittings on the RV cover..
 
That cylinder got hot. Do you run premix? I might suggest that, and also monitor your octane of fuel and do a carb inspection/service/rebuild...

My brother said from looking at the pics.. Oil mixture/pump failure.
