Have 96 XP seems like it's finally running right had on the river tonight best that ever ran. It burnt a hole in the hose between the exhaust and the muffler I'm not sure if that's from old age or a bigger issue any ideas? After I got it off of there it definitely looked like it had been hot.

Thanks was going to ask my new mechanic I found about that tomorrow appreciate it very much. Is that a big fix? Wanting to take it to the lake next week

Matt I just looked at a couple other things about the exhaust and the water regulator. There is a control on top of the muffler looks like a rave valve. Says it should be sent flush which mine is. One line off of the goes to a water hose that runs to the Head. The other one got melted in the trial run. Look like the end of it I looked around could not find any place for it should have went . Felt on the back of the head and other places but did not find a home for it? Maybe that's why it overheated because that hose came unhooked?

Either that or the exhaust got so hot it melted off. That part that looks like a RAVE valve is the water regulator. It has bellows inside that gets poked by the clamp that rusts away. The bottom black hose comes from the incoming water that the pump is pushing in. The top hose goes to a fitting on the exhaust pipe near the support bracket.

Ok thanks I'll check it out. Hopefully it came on hooked but knowing my luck and melt it off thank you very much
