Hey yall if someone could point me in the right direction with this issue. So here is whats been going on.. I bought the ski a few months ago and have rebuilt the carbs and set HS and LS screws to factory settings. The first time i ran it in the water it would not go past 1/4 throttle and just die. I learned that if i pull the choke just right then i can get it passed and run 1/2 to full throttle. I adjusted the low speed screw enriching it and that didnt help along with adjusting the HS screw. I am sure it is leaning out. I thought it might be a leak in my fuel lines so i replaced all my fuel lines with new clamps and hoses. I have blown out my check valves for the tank checked all filters and they are clean.
I then went back through the carbs again with carb cleaner, the jets are all clear and the correct sizes, the needles seem ok and do not show signs of wear, all the ports going into the bore are clear as i ran cleaner through them then compressed air. I have read forums saying to check your transition ports because they are the smallest and are hard to clean i know they are clear tho. I tested my pop off pressure and have it set on both carbs at about 30psi which is within spec in the manual. Both needle levers are flush. I checked for leaks after reassembling the pump and there were none. I did rebuild it with a none mikuni rebuild kit but could the round check valves have something to do with this problem?
It does have a new rectifier and spark plugs along with new exhaust and carb base gaskets. I feel like i have been up and down this ski, i just want to get out on the water. Any help is greatly appreciated!
