Hi guys, I am new here. I just rebuilt my '96 XP 800 engine for the third time since I bought it new. This time I needed new cases since the counter balance shaft busted completely out of the engine. Believe it or not it still ran and got me back to dock!
I found some good used cases and bought a rebuilt crankshaft, counterbalance shaft, bored cylinders, new pistons, rings, etc, I want to make sure that it is good to go so I am premixing my first full tank of fresh premium fuel with 24 oz of Sea Doo synthetic oil (50:1) to break it in properly.
I want to make sure that my oil injection pump is working properly for when I go back to straight fuel after the first pre-mix tank. I put a new filter on and bled the system. I liberally oiled the entire engine upon reassembly and I am now cranking the engine on the starter watching the oil injectors on the PTO and Mag intakes with the carbs removed and the oil injection pump held wide open.
I am getting oil from both injectors but the PTO side seems to be getting more than the mag side. I switched the hoses on the pump and the result was the same. The PTO injector flows more oil. Is this normal? How much oil should be injected on the PTO and Mag injectors at starter cranking speed with the oil pump held wide open?
