96 xp 787 cooling intake quick quaestion

I just noticed that the cooing intake hose that goes through the back of the hull into the pump can easily be pulled out by hand and doesnt seem connected, anybody know if this is right or if there is a push fit or something inside.

i see what you are saying but it is the next piece, the solid pipe that, that hose connects to that can be pulled out.
