96 SPX Steady Beep while riding

Got the SPX kickin and I hear the steady beep while I am riding. Engine temp feels good. the info gauge isn't working. What else would give me a steady beep. My wife is surprised I heard it. It must be pretty loud. I didn't notice "when" it began sounding. I just did the top and and cleaned all the lines. May be a bad temp sensor. Help is appreciated.

That is the over heat alarm.

If the engine is cool to the touch and it is going off it is a bad sensor. It is only measuring the water temp at the head.

I was thinking that and wanted to be sure but I'll do some checks.
