KNUCKLE BUSTER

New Member
Hello I am new back to the sport after a 10 year break raising kids, got a great deal on a 1999 gtx limited 88 hours very nice shape on a new double trailer for 3k and a new yamaha sho i bought to fill the other slot. I am a Master Auto tech/shop owner, My question the gtx has a solid 130 psi compression cold per cylinder runs a solid 60 mph no problems at all. I see that some say this is a bit low, my friend owns a jetski repair business and said that the gtx limited new had 135-150 PSI he saw a slight difference in many that he has worked on. My new gsx in 1997 had 130 psi i have a number of compression testers and all are the same 130 cold. does this warrant a top end fresh up thanks.

If you are getting 130 in each you are fine. Some testers are cheap and read 15-20psi below the actual reading. If it starts fine and runs 60mph don't even mess with the top end, you will end up ruining something else.
