95 SPI Clicking Before Starting
I have a 95 SPi and on a fairly regular basis when i push the start button, i hear a clicking sound instead of the starter turning over. I installed a new SBT performance starter and a new Interstate battery with the same results. All connections outside the electrical box from the starter to the battery have been completely cleaned and have dielectric grease on them.
In order to start it i need to push the button several times with each push usually making a single click sound with an occasional "growl" inside the electrical box. Sometimes when i hold the button i get the click sound and then the engine turns for about 4 seconds then stops too.
I read other forums that said to jump the solenoid and when i did it started up. Any advise on how to physically remove the solenoid? Also, should i be concerned with the ignition coil?
Please help!
