787 seadoo 1997 bad crank seal

Looking at a 787 with leaking crank seals wondering if there is anything stopping me from cutting the flow of oil to the engine and just running mixed gas, any help would be appreciated

That won’t work, the oil is leaking past the center seals that separate the rotary valve from the rest of the crank. If you switched to pre mix which is usually not advised with seadoo’s you would still need to supply oil to the rotary valve

Isn’t the fuel oil mix going all over the rotary valves? Since it literally has to go past said valve?
No, the fuel oil mix is being brought past the rest of the crank but the rotary valve is separated from it. Have a look at your Seadoo, there’s an 8mm oil going to your oil pump, a 12mm line going beneath your intake ( that feeds the rotary valve ) and another vent line coming from beneath the exhaust manifold to the top of the oil tank.

What are the symptoms of the leaking seal.
Is it leaking oil internally or air/oil externally?
