787 RFI - rebuild advice, tips, and suggestions wanted

Hey Racer, that two-jaw puller advice was the cats a$$! Easy Peasy! The new bearings are on the way.
Starter Question: The roller bearing located in the end cap, that houses the brushes, is that bearing meant to stay dry, or should it be lubed with something? It was carbon'd up, but cleaned up nicely. Just unsure about a lubricant. Grease or oil would attract brush dust, yes?
(Good thing that CB bearing near the gear was pulled, it's definitely rattling/bad.)
Thank you Racerxxx, Mikidymak, and Pghman for the assistance. Sure takes a lot of the stress out of a job like this when you can get help and direction. It would have been a pisser to rebuild this thing and have the CB bearing burn up shortly after.

I never have, the factory never did on a 787. I know SBT puts enough around the crank seals to choke a horse, I don't subscribe to that. I never got that, that is under an interference fit. If it's gonna leak it's gonna leak around the shaft.

Go with Racers advise. He was very helpful on my 1st RFI rebuild...runs like a champ!

Installed the new bearings on the CB shaft. Easy really, just went slow. The new crank goes in tomorrow. Cylinders are getting bored .25 over, and should be done sometime next week. Thanks again for all the excellent coaching!
