I HAVE A 1992 GTS WITH BLOWN UP 580 ORIGINAL ENGINE,WILL A 1997 720 engine fit in the gts hull?

The mounting plate from the 717 would have to be used because it is different then the 580 one. A lot of times there is not room for the stock airbox on the 717 and you will need a different throttle and choke cable. You must change the impeller because the pitch is too low for 85hp. The rev limit in the MPEM is slightly lower on the 92 but should be fine if the 717 has a tall enough impeller.

The studs are much shorter on the early skis that came with aluminum bodies. The newer one will be plastic and need longer studs. Sometimes I can start a nut without washers so you may be able to grind a little plastic off the pump tabs to make room. The plastic fittings will screw in if your newer pump just has the O-ring seals. Use the impeller boot that fits the shaft because the newer impeller boot likely has a larger hole.
