2020 RXT-X 300 acceleration

Hey guys and gals,

I just got my first ski. I am hoping this is the right place to post this. Not really sure what 4tec is. Anyways, it is a 2020 with 17 hours on it. I was expecting the acceleration to be much quicker, and I'm wondering if something is wrong. It takes a few seconds right after I hit it to really pick up. It is in sport mode, or at least I believe it is. I am comparing this to a 2016 yamaha fx svho cruiser , which felt like it immediately took off after squeezing the throttle. Seeing as this is supposedly 300 hp VS the yamaha's 250 I think, I thought this would be much quicker. Any experience or thoughts with this?

Could possibly be a bad wear ring or damaged impeller.

My 2020 GTR rockets right out of the water and is a beast in sport mode with 230 horsepower. You have to press to get to sport mode and then press and hold again to confirm.
