2013 GTI155 steering housing scratches - help

I’ve got a steering housing that seems to scratch if you just look at it. Dunno what’s causing it or how to restore finish. Any help would be appreciated.

It’s sun damage, google restoring sun damaged plastic. A cover after you restore will help.

There are a number of plastic restore products in the automotive section of a store. Any would probably work fairly well, at least for a few months, but would have to be reapplied. You might also want to wipe the area down with WD-40? That works pretty well too, and might treat for a bit longer than some of the restore products.
