2010 GTX 155 Seat Hinge

I'm patiently waiting for the end of winter in Chicago by surfing all things PWC on the internet and torturing myself in the process. I figured I'd put this post out there and see if anyone has experienced the same problem I did at the end of last summer. I purchased a Sea Doo GTX 155 last July 4th and a month later when closing the seat down the mounting bracket for the seat lift snapped in half. I took it to the dealer and they ordered a new piece which arrived in a couple days but as soon as they put the new piece in and tested the seat it promptly did the same thing and broke. Well after that it was literally over a month before they were able to get a new piece. This strikes me as odd and I'm wondering if Sea Doo realized they had a problem and redesigned the part which in turn delayed my repair. It looks different to me but I can't be sure. I guess I'm asking because if it's common for parts to take a month to ship then that could put a turd in the pool as far as my already short season. Should something break. I'd greatly appreciate any input. Thanks.

Monkey,

I bought the same ski on the same day as you but I am waiting impatiently for the thaw. Really impatiently!

My biggest gripe about this machine is the flimsy latches and the quality of the plastic cowling in general. I have not broken anything yet but I have a vague recollection of making a comment about the quality of the latches to the dealer at the showroom and he said not to worry; there were upgrades being made by SeaDoo that would be covered under warranty. I haven't had a chance to look at a 2011 to see if the quality of the latches and lift mechanism is improved but you may want to ask your dealer about getting any upgrades.

Sorry to hear about your shortened, short season. I managed to rack up 72 hours before I pulled it off the lift in October. Can't wait to take some long overnighters this summer.
