Hi new to the forum--- looking for help ---- I bought a new 2007 seadoo in 2009. gtx limited 215. it is a beautiful machine; however this spring, I launched it and only got 35 mph; top speed. took it to repair shop and they told me that the pump housing had two wrong bolts in it out of a total of 4!! Don't know how that happen cause I have only had it winterized twice with no work done on the propulsion system. IT only has 24 hours on the clock!
anyway, the repair shop had to drill out one of the wrong bolts as it finally broke---- and replace the inpeller w/ a rebuilt one just like the factory one--- also replaced the wear ring and put 4 correct bolts back in the housing $845 later it only goes 50-53 mph!! up till this problem, I got 65 mph easily. I'm not a speed freak, but would like the machine to be right. any ideas as to why i'm loosing 15 mph?

I'm taking the issue up with the dealer that i bought the machine from and also the seadoo reps as a gtx w/ only 24 hrs on it should not have trouble. I think the two "wrong" bolts were put in from the factory, but the dealer is balking----!!!! thanbks for any ideas bob

What was wrong with the impeller? If you bought it new never used in 2009, why'd it need a new impeller already?

I'm not clear what 4 bolts you are referring to either. Hope the repair shop took pics of the bolts that were wrong, otherwise going to be kind of hard to prove they were incorrect. Almost sounds like it wasn't a new unused Seadoo when you bought it in 2009 though, hard to believe it sat on dealer's lot for 2 years without having any hours put on it.

Mmm, what rpm's is it running at 50-53 mph? Is the oil level correct? It should be in the middle of the bend of the dip stick, NOT at the top of the bend or above!!!! Too much oil drags the engine rpm's down. BRP should stamp a horizontal line at the exact spot the oil level should be at with the engine cold... the bend is nutty, IMHO.
