2007 GTI Rental - water in engine?

It seems after pulling the plugs I may have water in the engine. It has never been submerged or does it sit in the water. Anything that I can do or is the engine toast??

Never flushed without the engine on first. Have not ridden it in a couple of years.

Probably toast by the look of things… but you can try seeing if the engine will turn over at all. Spray some liquid wrench or your favorite rusted bolt potion down inside all the cylinders every day for 4-5 days. Then put an ounce of penetrating oil in each cylinder and let that sit for a couple days. Then with a good battery, try to turn the engine over after a week of lubrication in the cylinders. If it doesn’t turn over, you can possibly try to turn it over by hand with a wrench - but I am not an expert on that and where is the best place to attach your wrench.

If you can get the engine to break free and turn over, you can then check compression to see if you have even compression across all 3 cylinders, and you are probably looking for 130 psi or more. If you are comfortable with your compression, then you might get comfortable investing in new fuel injectors (they are definitely rusted too) new spark plugs, and trying to start the engine. You likely have other issues that are rusted and damaged like the throttle body, and maybe some wiring or fuses, but you can work thru those issues as they arise.

Ok will give it a try. It does crank but does not start so maybe new plugs?

I would start with what is cheapest - new plugs. And I would attach the plugs to the coils and lay the coils where the plug can touch ground. Try to crank the engine over and see if you have spark in all 3 plugs. If you don’t have spark, you need to fix that in some way. Once you confirm spark, then I would change all 3 fuel injectors, you can find aftermarket fuel injectors for maybe $50 each or less? I know the Seadoo fuel injectors are about $200.

Also, try to check compression. You can possible use a tester from an auto parts store for free or a small fee. If you don’t have good and even compression, you are not going to start no matter if you have spark and fuel.
