Hi All,

My 2006 GTX STD has lost power recently. I now can only get about 40 mph out of it and it is slow out of the hole. It also loses power in turns like it is cavitating. I check and there is nothing in the impellor. Am I correct in guessing it is the wear ring?

is it turning high rpms? like slipping clutch indicates cavitation. the wear ring is a good place to start for inspection as well as the impeller, gap should not be more than a dime thickness. or a worn carbon seal.

I seems like the RPMs are jumping when full throttle or getting out of the hole like it is hitting the rev limiter. I am going to take it tonight to my friends shop and we are going to look at it.

**Update... The wear ring had a 1/4" groove all the way around. Changed it out and now it runs better then ever since I've owned it!
