I was wondering whether my jet ski has an air filter?
It seems like it should, but I can't find any reference to one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dick

It has an air circulation system, to prevent fumes from building up anywhere inside the hull and causing an explosion... but no, there's no air filter in there. On the water, there's just not any dust particles generally. Ever seen a dusty waterway? :willy_nilly:

I supposed you could go boating at a river somewhere near a highly travelled very dry dirt road, but that's about the only case where you should find any dust in the air directly over a body of water.

Michael and Waterblue - On Donner Lake, in the high Sierras where I run the beast, during the spring and early summer, there's a ton of pollen in the air from all of the trees. It gets deposited everywhere. There's also a heavy coating of pollen on the water near the shore during this time.
Since I only have automotive experience, I would have thought that an air filter would be part of the design of any internal combustion engine, but clearly that's not the case.

Thanks,
Dick

Dick you can add a Riva air intake system with filter to your SeaDoo if you like. It's supposed to increase the horsepower just a little bit, but costs a couple hundred if I'm not mistaken.

I really don't know if pollen harms an internal combustion engine or not. I'd think dust particles would be much worse!
