1st time taking my 2004 gtx 155 out the alarm sounded telling me it was overheating. Looked in the hull and it's full of oil. Thought maybe it was a leaking oil cooler. Took the hoses off the oil cooler and they were full of coolant. What am I dealing with here?

Hoses on the oil cooler are supposed to have coolant in them, the oil is circulated through the block in two ports on the backside of the cooler. There are seals in those two ports, maybe they are leaking, bolts are loose on the cooler. Overheating is probably because the screen for water cooling is plugged, the screen is on top of the pump , left side when your looking at it, it looks like a big plastic nut. I should ask what was the overheating code? The exhaust can overheat due to lack of cooling water or the engine can overheat due to many reasons.

Thanks for the reply. I filled the engine back with oil but couldn't see if any oil was leaking out. I expected to be able to see were the oil leak was coming from but couldn't see anything leaking.

You cannot see under the oil cooler, its right at the bottom of the block , you need to remove it to check, oil could also come from the shaft bearing seal, or from the rubber boot around it being damaged or loose. Best thing to try is clean up the old oil and then see if you can spot the area where its coming from.
