2003 sportster 4-tech

I just had a 2003 sportster 4 tech come in for winterizing. Upon finding water in the jet pump I continued with resealing the jet pump. I found that there was 2 bearings, one was plastic caged and clearly was overheated at one point. I purchased a rebuild kit which came with a knew bearing and seal and o-rings. Now in 2004 they went to a newer style bearing and I cant find on any parts fiche these 2 bearings that originally came with this pump.My question is, can I just remove these 2 bearings and will the newer style bearing just retrofit to this pump assy or is the alternative is to upgrade the pump housing?
