2003 Seadoo GTI - Squeels loudly after starting

Hello. I just purchased 2 seadoo's. I took them to the river and rode them for about 3 hours. My wife flagged me down and stated that the 2003 GTI just turned off and will not start. She said it kinda rumbled before it turned off.

I took it home and it would not turn overso it seemed as the battery was dead. I replaced the battery and it fired up immediatly but it was squeeling horribly. It scared me so I shut it off. I looked underneath and noticed a small black cone shaped piece in the middle of the shaft going out to the prop.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as we were planning on taking them to the beach next week for our summer vacation.

Sounds like ya need to pull the pump & drive, inspect the bearings. Remove the
drive cover in back of engine in case ya got something wrapped up.

Yea. I looked in from underneath through the water intake and noticed the wear ring had been mangled. So i removed the impeller housing. I pulled the cone off and there is definatly carnage inside. I am guessing that the last owner never serviced the oil or it leaked out. It has water and sand inside. before i pulled it apart I went and bought a cone seal and new wear ring but now that I found this I dont know if I will be able to repair this myself. I am guessing i am going to need new bearings and seals for inside also now. Is the impeller shaft reusable? Does anyone know of another way to pull it apart other than buying the splined tool? Any more help would be appreciated!
