Hello everyone, this is my first pwc and my first post on the site.
Just bought a 2003 gti le rfi 156hr with broken piston, after I rebuild the top end, starter, start solenoid, battery cables. I set the lanyard key on the post, I can hear the fuel pump and like something activate on the mpem and 2short beeps and dash board come on, but push the start/stop bottom and nothing happens.
I do remove the yellow/red cable for ohms and its O/L but when I hit the bottom it just go to all kind of numbers.
Any help will be appreciated, btw I'm not a mechanic. I just read a lot. And actually hate the electric systems cuz I don't understand them. Thanks

Try to jump the starter selenoid,,,if that works,,,you can rule out a bad selenoid
Thanks for replay.
Done that, actually new one installed.
New engine ground. All new fuse and working, getting power and good ground to connector 3 on the mpem.

If you've jumped the start solenoid, check that you get 12v across it. If not, wiring issue.

If you do, maybe the engine or pump is frozen somehow? You might have to pull the pump and see if it spins freely. With the spark plugs out, you should be able to spin the driveshaft by hand. If not, there's something wrong with the engine.

If it spins freely, consider a possible starter issue.

The pump should also spin easily by hand once it's off the engine.

Yes, it turns freely, without spark plugs. And when jumped the starter selenoid.
Main issue is that I don't getting power to start botton.
When I set the key to the lanyard, I get the 2 beeps and can hear the fuel pump, but press the start button and noting, we do check the switch and its good, it open and when depressed go to 0hms.

Wait, so when you jump the solenoid, it cranks?

Check the small trigger wire(s) to the solenoid. When you hit the start button you should get 12v. If you do, you have a bad solenoid. If you don't, you have a wiring or mpem issue. Check wires from mpem to solenoid and check to ensure you get 0 ohms from the start/stop switch at the mpem.. not at the switch.
