I am a first time buyer and very interested in purchasing a Seadoo(most likely used) I came across a 2002 GTX Limited 4 tec--2002. It is in great shape. Says it has been serviced appropriately. The only thing is, it has 250 hours on it, and it is 11 years old. Should I be worried? I know that engine rebuilds come around this time for some skis..please send me feedback, thanks.

Welcome to the forum. The 4-Tek engines normally have engine life of at least twice what you are looking at with that unit. If its been serviced like you've been told you should get many additional years of an engine like that.

A few things..... I believe this was the first year they used the 4-Tek engines. Not sure if that would be a concern or not. Many times you hear not to buy the first year of a lot of things because they are working the bugs out. In addition, I don't know if they used the supercharger that early or on that model, but there were reliability issues with the early ones due to the ceramic washers. This has enough hours on it where it would have gernaded if it hadn't been serviced. Be sure to water test it. For additional guidance on this model, post any questions in the 4-Tek PWC section of the forum. Good luck.
