2002 RXDI: New Member Question???

I have a 2002 RXDI. I found a loose hose that end near the battery and exits through a small yellow hole on the port side. I can blow air through the line. I think it is for battery vent, but I am unsure and this is my first jet ski. Please help me. thanks for your time.

Is there any line attached to the battery? If not, it probably is the battery vent. There should be a port on the battery for ventilation.

Yes there is a drain on the battery so I went ahead and hooked up this line to it. I think it had fallen off of the old battery, and I discovered it when installing the new one.

One last question... when i start the jet ski the display flashes maintenance and the red light comes on for about 8-10 seconds. Is this normal? It goes away completely, but it seems to stay on for a while.

Can't help you on that one...my only experience is with the 01' XP, which is a base model carbureted 2 seater without all the fancy lights. Sorry I can't help any further, but hopefully someone on this forum has some experience with the DI...

my 02's rxdi and gtxdi do the same thing. The light goes off after a few secs. I think this is normal. Much your car or truck on start up it runs through a quick systems check upon start up.

the only time mine has stayed on is when I forgot to connect one of the spark plug wires after a plug change. Whoops!
